423 Men Disc Golf Tournament

423 Men Disc Golf Tournament SATURDAY JULY 24th. Come out and play with us at the Greater Portland Bible church course. There will be prizes (Disc Golf Discs). Free to play but if you are interested in the prizes bring $3 entry fee. Come at 9:30 to get organized and will start at 10 sharp. After the Tournament, we will be heading to a nearby Baja Fresh for lunch if you are interested in food and more fellowship. Map of the course is below.

423 Men

Countless men suffer from the addictive cycle of lust and sexual sin. They know firsthand the heart wrenching pain and hopelessness expressed by Paul in his letter to the church in Rome:

“For what I am doing I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do.”

Romans 7.15

423 Men is committed to finding a way out of the shame caused by sexual sin. We know there is hope through Jesus Christ, who wholly understands, because He was tempted as we are:

“For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.”

Hebrews 4.15

423 Men is for those who have tried and failed to achieve sexual purity. You are not alone. We meet weekly for mutual support, accountability, and to honestly confess our utter dependence on Jesus Christ. You can share your story in a safe, confidential, and anonymous environment with other men who have achieved victory they never dreamed possible.

You can overcome sexual sin, but you can’t do it alone.

There is hope.

P B & J

423 Men practice PB & J (Prayer, Bible, and Journaling). For some of you, a Bible reading plan may be helpful.

There are 52 weeks and 260 weekdays in any given year (52 X 5 = 260). Coincidentally, there are also 260 chapters in the New Testament. By reading just one chapter of the New Testament every Monday through Friday which, by the way, take only a few minutes, you will finish the entire New Testament in a year.

If you are a little more ambitious, you may want to read the whole Old Testament in a year on this 5 day a week reading plan. Avid Bible students may accomplish the entire Bible each year by simply reading both Old and New Testament columns in the reading plan provided at the link below.

If you fall behind, use the weekends to catch up. If you fall far behind, don’t worry about it. Just pick up your reading for the day. The study of God’s Word should not be viewed as a competition or legal requirement for believers. You don’t have to read the Bible. You get to.

Enjoy your time in the Scriptures and read with a spirit of anticipation. Pray as you read and record your insights in a journal. Be faithful to your PB & J. Share your journal entries with the guys in your 423 Men group. Jesus will speak to you and your life will be forever changed!
